Wild Feet Baby Booties
Easy Pattern for making these adorable baby booties! Use up odds and ends of eyelash yarn and double knit yarn as well! Great fun to knit as an evening project.
Knitting Needles: Sizes 4.5mm and 3mm Yarn: Eyelash yarn and a DK weight yarn to match or contrast.
Directions: Using the eyelash yarn, cast on 43 stitches with the 4.5 mm needles Knit 10 rows. Knit 24, knit 2 together, turn *Knit 7, knit 2 together, turn* Repeat this until 31 stitches remain. Knit to end of row. Change to size 3mm needles and join DK weight yarn. Knit 1, Purl 1 ribbing across for 20 rows Cast off. Sew bottom foot with cast on tail and back of “heel” with leftover end at start of ribbing Sew ribbing and turn down for cuff.
Optional: To make an eyelet row in the ribbing to allow for a ribbon to be threaded, make the following change:
Work 4 rows of ribbing of Knit 1, Purl 1 To create the eyelet row work the following: Knit 1, *Yarn forward, knit 2 together. Repeat from * to last stitch. Knit 1. Return to ribbing of Knit 1, Purl 1. Continue to knit with the same number of rows of ribbing and finish as in the pattern above.
